Where should the planning versions be set:

To set up report versions, go to the configuration and click on the Template Definitions button:

In this overview you will always find two related entries for setting the versions and display in the report → e.g. BUD-FC and BUD-FC-DEFAULT:

The versions with all settings are stored under BUD-FC and the BUD-FC-DEFAULT determines which versions can be selected in the report and which of them is the current version, planning version and which planning version is for the next planning version for the reporting year.

BUD-FC

Click on the BUD-FC (once) and then on Entries to get to the settings list for versions:

A list of planning versions will now open. You can create a new planning version using the Create button.

For a new planning version you now set the following:

Start year, planning type and duration.

DetailVersion → This field is intended to allow multiple planning versions to be created for the same period. For example, if values have changed during budget planning, select Version A/B/... here. This will result in an additional planning version appearing in the report with the DetailVersion abbreviation.

Comparison budget → This field is intended for the planning version with which the currently created planning version is to be compared. This entry is only effective if a report has been created that displays two planning versions.

Setting the planning use

The storage of which planning version is displayed by default when opening a report.

Which planning version is displayed as the comparison version by default when opening a report.

Which planning version should be used for the new/next planning (which planning version budget uploads should be made to…)

In the alias filter you can also specify which planning versions should be selectable in the report (i.e. restrictions can be entered here), e.g. BUD-FC.2024.. →this would mean that planning versions from version BUD-FC.2024 onwards would appear as a selection in the report.
